Learners can listen, repeat, watch, and write as they practise each set of hiragana.

This workbook is designed for beginners of different ages who want a clear, printable way to start hiragana.

  1. Absolute beginners: For first-time learners who are starting hiragana from the beginning.
  2. Independent learners: Good for learners who want structure, practice, and video support.
  3. Children, teens and adults: The vocabulary and activities are chosen to work across ages.
  4. Families learning together: Useful for a child and adult learning side by side at home.

Why the workbook is romaji-free

Romaji can be helpful at the very beginning, but it can also make it harder to become comfortable with hiragana.

This workbook keeps the focus on Japanese script from the start. Learners are supported with a colour-coded chart, clear examples, audio and stroke-order videos, and plenty of gentle practice.

The aim is not to make learning harder.

The aim is to help hiragana become familiar, readable, and usable from the beginning.
